Turning a thesaurus into an Ontology

Furniture ontology developed from the AAT using Protoge-2000 - RDF Schema is the underlying representation language.

Development steps:

• construction of a description template - what information is wanted to be recorded.
• linking properties in the template to thesaurus subsets
• Add contraints on values

Furniture concept is a Protoge class, descriptors as slots of the class.

Protoge slots are translated into RDFS properties, the qualifiers into subproperties.
